I did my PhD in evolutionary ecology at the McGill University's Department of Biology. My research focuses on the nature and rate of host evolution of defense against parasites under different environmental regimes, through field and lab experiments.

I designed and assembled the Peruvian geographical database, which I successfully used to identify likely “Paramo” areas and their interaction with environmental and social variables. The research also led to a technical document on the management and results of the database.

Assisted regional-government officials with the development of provincial "zoning and diagnostic studies" for land use and demarcation. Researched on how to integrate natural hazards into political demarcation.

Editing of environmental impact assessments (EIAs), base lines and social risk studies. Review and verify scientific rigour, clear communication and coherence of the statements for three base lines, four social risk assessments, and more than 15 EIAs that were later approved by the government for their execution.

I was part of a research group that dealt with developing and applying a nation-wide model for school accessibility. The rationale was to assign school precincts to minimize travel distances, time and effort of children and identify areas where new education centers were needed.
