Experienced consultant, systems thinker and design researcher dedicated to international cooperation in diverse fields such as open-source technologies and culture, sustainability and circular economy, distributed manufacturing, open science, and others. Originally from Brazil, living in Berlin for some years.Open to work: commissioned research, advisory and planning, speaking, mentorship.In the last twenty+ years, I was a co-founder and leader of various initiatives dedicated to critical thinking (and making) at the crossroads between culture, science, technology, and society. Some examples are Tropixel, MetaReciclagem, CulturaDigital.BR, Bricolabs, Rede//Labs, Lixo Eletrônico, Ciência Aberta Ubatuba, UbaLab. I was the user community manager of the Subutai Platform.Recent projects include a study on distributed manufacturing in the global south, the creation of a toolkit for community initiatives, a digital artwork exhibited at events such as Mozfest and Ars Electronica, and mentorship on distributed design.I have recently finished a PhD (Northumbria University, Mozilla Foundation, University of Dundee). The title of my thesis was “Generous cities – weaving commons-oriented systems for the reuse of excess materials in urban contexts”. I also have an MA in Science Diffusion from Labjor at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) in Brazil, acquired in 2014 with a dissertation on “networked experimental labs”.
