About Felipe Lobas Rocha

Nowadays, I am working as Big Data Engineer building, developing, maintaining, testing, evaluating and involved in the design of Big Data solutions within organisation. I am skilled with Hadoop based technologies such as HDFS, YARN, Hive, Spark and other tools like Kafka and Nifi. Basically, I am able to build large-scale data processing systems.I am also experienced in Software Engineering, having the capability to architect highly scalable systems and I can choose and analyse the best algorithms and data structures to it. I know different programming languages like Python, Java, SQL, JavaScript, C#, VB.Net and I am learning Scala and R. I am developing my skills with NoSQL databases and I have a large experience with Relational Databases. Using Java and Python to build data processing systems with HDFS, Hive and Spark are a common routine for me.For the past years I have worked with e-commerce and retail as a Systems Analyst and Software Engineer skilled in Object Oriented Programming, Design Principles and Design Patterns, developing and refining applications like Websites, REST and SOAP Web Services, Desktop Applications and etc. I worked as .NET specialist for more than 10 years and I am also experienced and skilled in SQL Server database, IIS Web Server and Front-End development using JavaScript (Jquery and AngularJs), HTML and CSS. I know how to collaborate with the architectural team and the business stakeholders to understand their particular needs, then translate those into technical requirements for trying to come up with the most efficient solution for architecting the technology.I have a degree in Information Systems and I am postgraduate in Project Management from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie. I am currently taking MBA Analytics in Big Data at Fundação Instituto de Administração (FIA).
