Hi🖐 I have over 25 years of experience in artificial intelligence and software development I am a passionate technology and business leader with a long track record of driving innovation and growth.After a few years working in the music business as a producer and sound engineer I discovered AI. The mixture of computing, neuroscience, psychology, linguistics, visual perception and robotics ignited my long-term interest in this amazing and broad subject. Most people think AI is ChatGPT but my 25 year career has spanned expert systems, natural language processing, process automation, intelligent video analysis, computer vision systems, machine learning, deep learning, neural networks and finally LLMs. It has been an amazing journey and I still have so much more to do. While I love working in technology and all the amazing (and not so amazing people) I have met along the way, I am still a human. I enjoy engaging and negotiating with people, brainstorming ideas, reading physical books, running, playing guitar, travelling and the absolute frustration and joy a round of golf brings.I enjoy the thrill of working in start-ups and with new initiatives, where the outcome may be uncertain. I have started my own businesses several times and been part of numerous start-ups. It has taught me how not too do a lot of things and the best way to achieve success. However, I have also spent my time working in enterprises, which helps me bring a sense of discipline and professionalism to all my entrepreneurial endeavours. And the one lesson I take forward from all this experience is that success comes to those that plan effectively and 'execute' - nothing works better than doing the thing you set out to do well.My current work at Route10 brings a combination of my experience in sales, management, investment and technical vision into a single role. I am passionate about bringing AI to the mobile workforce industry to help companies improve service and become more efficient. It's an exciting new challenge and I can draw on my experience of helping to transform industries, such as finance, banking, telecoms, commerce, advertising, security, retail, hospitality, facilities management, public safety, transport, critical infrastructure, property and investments.I am always keen to assist people understand how AI can help them with their business problems, so feel free to reach out and we can have a chat.
