Large amount of interaction with the traveling public, along with extensive training in law, public safety and understanding human behaviour and indicators to recognize suspicious elements or dishonesty.

Working closely with members of the public, as a part of the Vancouver Police Department’s community division. Helping get important safety information to members of the public and also working with the public to identify long term problems in their areas and work out ways to improve them.

Administrative work included data entry for clients to prepare for tax filing, taking calls, locating client files, sitting in on meetings, and other administrative tasks as needed.

I was tasked to administer the website, email account, and other social media outlets. Job was focused around communicating to current members on behalf of the committee and assisting in the recruitment efforts to find new members for the specific chapter and the organisation as a whole.

This was my second attempt to launch a business. While we had certain degrees of success, ultimately many of the challenges that the business were running up against seemed insurmountable at the time. This was an important lesson in the real cost of following an opportunity. Time spent investing into a business is time that could be invested into a career or into study for greater reward. Starting a business is not always the best way forward, in fact for over 90% of entrepreneurs it usually is not.Job covered areas from procurement, shipping, to some degree of marketing.We assisted those within our network to buy or sell commodities, or other goods. We had active interests in recycled plastic, rare earth materials, lumber, laser printer toner, and scrap copper.

My first venture into entrepreneurship. After graduating high school I spent about two years "finding myself", often finding myself in different parts of the world, or just finding myself in trouble. I worked any job I could get, which largely involved yachts: in the form of fixing, painting, scrubbing clean and occasionally even sailing them. I worked on construction projects as diverse as the building of a ship to the building of a log cabin. I prepped food at festivals and tended bars. I even ended up spending a summer in a farming community tilling fields and chopping wood. Managed to make my way across an impressive list of countries whilst skirting the responsibilities of adulthood and delaying my formal education for as long as I could. Eventually I tired of the life of a wandering vagabond and set about obtaining an academic education to top off the one I had been getting out of life for those two years.
