Captain Pacheco has served with the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office since 1998 and has 25 years of law enforcement experience. Captain Pacheco has been recently assigned to the Special Victims Unit within the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office. He was the Unit Commander responsible for revising the existing Hudson County SVU protocols, which outlines directives for investigating all Child Abuse cases and Sexual Assaults throughout the county. Instituted new policies and security protocols to provide a secure work area of the Special Victims Unit, to include placing manual security locking systems on all SVU access doors, window guards within the interview rooms. These security protocols ensure a safe work environment by maintaining the security and integrity of the Unit. Captain Pacheco was a Sheriff’s Officer with the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office from 1994 to his appointment as a detective. In 2008, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. In 2011, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. In 2014, he was promoted to Captain and oversaw the largest multi-jurisdictional Task Force in the state of New Jersey and was responsible for all Task Force operations and investigations. Captain Pacheco has recently graduated from the prestigious Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy, Session #264 in 2016. Captain Pacheco was appointed as the President of the New Jersey Narcotics Enforcement Officers Association from 2015 – 2018. During his tenure as President, he was one of the NJNEOA Executive Board members responsible for creating the Basic Tactical Narcotics Training course (Basic “TNT”). He along with the NJNEOA Training Committee, developed the curriculum and serve as lead instructor for the NJNEOA Training Committee. Additionally, he expanded this training course to one week training to include a broader curriculum that allows Law Enforcement officers assigned to any agency the ability attend. As the NNOAC NJ Delegate, he would travel to Washington DC and schedule important meetings with our elected members of Congress and or their Law Enforcement Chief of Staff. In 2017, Captain Pacheco was honored as the first recipient of the prestigious BARRY GRAVES Award for Excellence in Undercover Investigations. The award was named after one of the original founding fathers of U.N.I.T., Detective Sergeant Barry Graves of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office. He was recently honored as the recipient of a life time achievement award for 2019 "Trainer of the Year" for New Jersey.
