As part of my masters in Data Science for Decision Making, I have conducted an internship at SEI. Working in the "Using machine learning for detecting environmental change" project, I have implemented Deep Neural Networks for the identification of permafrost thaw slumps. The identification of these thaw slumps is necesarry for the ability to monitor the extent and change of thawing permafrost, and the corresponding greenhouse gas emissions caused by thawed permafrost.
