My technical background is in electronic engineering (major: communications). I obtained my Diplom (~Masters) at the Technical University of Munich as well as the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in the USA.Today, in my daily work as a patent attorney, I handle inter-parte and ex-parte proceedings and hearings at the German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA), the European Patent Office (EPA) and the German Federal Patent Court (BPatG). My work concentrates on drafting, prosecuting and litigating patents and utility models. I have profound experience in standardization in the mobile communication area (ITU-T, 3GPP, etc.), but also feel very familiar with in other technology areas, such as video and audio coding, software, security & encryption (PKI), etc. Currently, I am an ad personam member of the Standing Advisory Committee before the EPO (SACEPO), Working Party on Rules for the term 2018-2020. I am also member of GRUR and epi.
