Being employed with the Title III HSI program at FAU has provided so many opportunities to not only grow as a helper but has helped me find a passion for my own career path. While being part of the program as a mentor my responsibilities largely revolved around helping students with tutoring or any questions they had about the engineering program at FAU. I was able to connect to the students on a more personal level. Furthermore, I worked with other mentors to create informationally presentations for the students about financial information as well as some career paths they may be interested in as engineers. This job helped me with some leadership skills and organizations skills since in some responsibilities I had to take charge and make sure the team was on the same page

While employed with Costco my responsibilities varied based on where I was needed. For the majority of the time, my job consisted of working outdoors during busy times and collecting the shopping carts for customers to utilize. Furthermore, I was in charge of stocking pallets full of merchandise at the end of the day. While employed I did have the opportunity to work in other areas such as working as the receipt checker and greeter as well as helping the cashier and putting back unwanted products. This job was a huge help in sharpening my skills when working in a group and helping me become more of a team player.

Working for Tuesday Morning I was exposed to and had the chance to work on and polish my customer service skills. Helping customers find what they needed and at checkout also helped me with work management and finding a balance in my work life. Other responsibilities included organizing and unboxing merchandise.
