Notable Projects:- Urban Environment Big Data Capture for Metropolitan Melbourne (Technical Lead – Algorithm Development):The project aims to utilize CSIRO’s super-computing resources to interpret high resolution aerial photography (10cm) covering the Metropolitan Melbourne region. In house designed algorithms use VicMap planning and cadastral information to statistically infer the location of a particular feature. - Inner City Energy Modelling and Mapping (GIS Modelling and Data Brokering)Understand and map the current distribution and type of end-use energy consumption in the residential and commercial buildings within inner city Melbourne. Investigate the changes in end-use energy consumption and their distribution considering different future scenarios in 5-year increments to 2026.- Data Standards for Water and Energy Consumption and Supply (Generate end user cases/Data Standardization/Database design).Standardize water use and energy use consumption for the AURIN portal. Develop sample data end use cases and visualizations.- High Resolution Met-ocean Modeling for Storm Surge Risk Analysis in Apia, Samoa (Visualisations/Mapping/GIS Modelling).Upscale a hydrodynamic model used to estimate extreme values of sea level arising from astronomical tides, storm surge, and nearshore wind-wave dissipation and breaking at the coast onto high resolution LiDAR for bathtub infill modelling and 3D visualizations.

Notable Projects:- Sydney Coastal Councils – Mapping and Responding to Coastal Inundation (Visualisations/Mapping/GIS Modelling).Map areas at risk of storm tide inundation to determine risk and develop consistent model planning and management responses. Upscale a storm surge, tide and sea-level rise hydrodynamic model onto high resolution LiDAR and implement a bathtub infill model. Build a multi-source bathymetric model of the NSW continental plate. - Costs and Coasts – Empirical Assessment of Adaptation Pathways (GIS Modelling and Feature Extraction)Built a physical model of over 40,000 home sitting on LiDAR derived terrain from LiDAR/Aeriel Photography. Modeled an ocean view factor, and a number of other indexes for the purpose of isolating the impact of geographically being located by a coastline to the value of a house for the purpose of quantifying what the economic loss might be to Australians living in coastal regions under numerous scenarios of coastal erosion and inundation.- Profiling urban interface vulnerability to Bushfires (Software Development/3D and GIS Modelling).Contributed to the dev of a methodology/software tool for predicting house-loss at the urban interface during unplanned bushfires. This tool incorporates the use of modeling infrastructure and running exposure analysis to determine danger from posing hazards.- Black Saturday Post-Bushfire Survey (Technical Lead/Post Processing and GIS Modelling).Rapid dev of a Post-Bushfire Data Capture System and Methodology including deployment, training and support and a report to the Black Saturday Royal Commission on findings based on statistical analysis and modeling.- ACCSP (Australian Climate Change Science Program) (Statistical Modelling/ GIS Modelling).Investigated how effective individual climate models perform from the IPCCC 4 Assessment for different climate regions within Australia. Validate performance by correlating the Rainfall per region with Mean Sea Level Pressure.
