The Robotics Innovation Challenge (RIC) is a robotics tournament and workshop series designed to inspire students in robotics, organized as part of the greater Singapore Robotic Games series spearheaded by Prof. Marcelo H. ANG Jr. (https://www.ric-robotics.com/)• Successfully organized and executed multiple large-scale robotics tournament with a combined number of more than 300 participants from more than 20 institutions internationally. • Managed large teams of operation crew-members, tournament referees and facilitators while adhering to a tight and fast-moving schedule. • Led the ideation and design efforts of the robotics competition from scratch for 4 main events: Grand Arena (GA), Technical Competitions (TC) - Sumo and Sprinting, Innovation Design Challenge (IDC) - including playing field map designs (hand-sketch to vectorization), hardware setups (3D-printing, carpentry, assembly), game manuals and rule books, all done with in-house expertise.• Introduced an innovative Round-Robin and Elimination Bracket tournament format for a more exciting but competitive setting - teams would have more chances for experience before being eliminated from the competition.• Created a central database of participants that includes automated data validation programs, and an automated system for scheduling and match-ups for schedule de-conflicting between events.• Ideated graphical elements and ensuring theme continuity across various elements utilized in the event to the finest details.• Streamlined supply chain planning for maximum cost-savings from 10 suppliers across Malaysia, Singapore and China for logistics required throughout the event.Completed two iterations of RIC 2024 Winter Edition (January) and RIC 2024 Summer Edition (July). Received multiple feedbacks from international partners that the 2024 iteration is one of the best planned and well executed thus far, and that the participants had a superb tournament experience.
