𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 “𝗩𝗜𝗡𝗢 𝗗𝗘 𝗣𝗔𝗚𝗢”? 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗜 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗼?𝗩𝗜𝗡𝗢 𝗗𝗘 𝗣𝗔𝗚𝗢 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗴𝗲𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗴𝗲𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗮 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝘀𝗼𝗶𝗹 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀. That is, when in a particular area there is a particular microclimate and soil composition specific to differentiate and distinguish them from other parts of its environment.The IG is regulated by the Law on Vine and Wine (2003), which states that all wine subject to this “label” must meet the following requirements:1. A PAGO must be known with a name traditionally linked to the cultivation of vineyards where the wine is obtained, whose maximum length can not be equal or superior to any of the municipalities in whose territory it is located.2. If the full PAGO is included in the territorial scope of a Denominación de Origen Calificada, then it may be called PAGO CALIFICADO, always meeting the requirements for the wines of the appellation of origin described. 3. The “VINOS DE PAGO” shall be made and bottled by the legal persons (companies) who hold ownership of vineyards in the PAGO. 4. All the grapes that are destined to VINO DE PAGO must come from vineyards in the determined PAGO and the wine must be prepared, stored and reared separately from other wines.5. The winemaking of the VINO DE PAGO will implement a comprehensive quality system, which will apply from the grape production until the wine reaches the market.6.
