I also got expert peer review of our curriculum from management training experts, Roffey Park.I managed fund-raising for the programme as well as developing and managing a stakeholder base to support the implementation of the programme. This ensured by the time we commenced, we had funds in the bank for the first 2 years of operationsI led the effort to build a brand and promote the new venture including coming up with name and logo, working on the website and recruiting young people who live work and study in East London into the programme for the first 2 years.The pilot of the programme commenced in July 2009 with 64 participants from East London and was opened by the UK Minister for Skills, David Lamy MP. Then UK Prime Minister, Gordon Brown and the leaders of the 2 other major UK political parties David Cameron MP (future PM) and Nick Clegg MP (future Deputy-PM) were patrons of UpRising Leadership Programme.
