Airline Pilot - Boeing 737Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering graduate from the Brno University of TechnologyI started studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Malta in 2014, from where I persisted to move abroad. For my third year's first semester I moved as a free-mover to the Brno University of Technology where I had the chance to volunteer on some projects in the Aerospace department, make new connections and explore new opportunities. For the second semester I went on Erasmus+ at the Czech Technical University in Prague. Eventually, influenced primarily by the opportunities available and subjects closely related to what I wanted to do, I decided that it is best for me to move permanently to Czechia and finish my degree there, so in 2018 I did a transfer of studies for my final year to the BUT. I focused more on aerospace and automotive. My Bachelor's degree thesis was a "Creation of an Educational Experiment for Aerodynamics 1 Course", involving setting up a wind tunnel experiment for a model WW2 warbird, obtaining results from the wind tunnel, comparing the results to those obtained via theoretical computations and identify causes for differences. During this final year I joined the formula student team TU Brno Racing as an aerodynamics member which led to a successful season, the team finished overall 3rd in Europe and 9th Worldwide for the 2018-9 season. After finishing my bachelor's degree, in 2019, I decided to follow my life long dream of becoming an airline pilot, and from university I went straight into a flight school, Flying Academy, also in Czechia. Having completed the Modular 0-ATPL(A), I joined Airline Flight Academy for the Ryanair Mentored APS MCC course. Following completion of the B737 Type Rating with Ryanair, I am now working as a First Officer.
