Research Assistant
Cognitive Radio InstituteParticipated in the Earmark project ‘Cognitive Radio Institute’, DURIP project ‘Cognitive Radio Network Testbed’ and NSF project ‘Collaborative Research: Wideband Cognitive Radio Communication: Modeling, Algorithm and Testbed’.Proposed a band shifting MAC layer protocol for frequency agility and a carrier sensing busy frequency method for spectrum sensing in cognitive radio. Implementation (using C language on PowerPC embedded processor) of these two methods on Wireless Open Access Research (WARP) platform. A video transmission is initially going on via air with 802.11 standard. When a primary signal was detected, both WARP nodes can shift to a backup frequency band with the video transmission keep streaming.Developing a Universal Software Radio Peripheral (USRP) and GNURadio based software defined radio testbed for cognitive radio network, including nodes synchronization and real-time data processing. Python and C++ language are mainly used for development. Socket programming was utilized for communications between server node and client nodes.Proposed several new spectrum sensing algorithms under extremely low SNR environment and robust spectrum sensing algorithms in cognitive radio.
Software Quality Assurance Engineer
Took part in the development of project ‘BSC software version 11’ for T-Mobile. Tested the integrated operation and telecom performances of GSM system with different new features and software versions. Discovered and analyzed the root cause of the bugs in both development phase and customers' field.Improved the test efficiency by developing an automation test tool using Shell script.
Software Engineer
Took part in the TD-SCDMA Simulation project. Completed the system-level simulation of High Speed Downlink Package Access (HSDPA) Outdoor system using C language and PHY layer simulation of 802.16e (OFDM+MIMO) based system. Improved the Space Division Multi-Access (SDMA) module, debugged the program and analyzed the advantages of SDMA.
Simulation Software Intern
Participated in the project ‘Research and Test on the Multiple Antennas Algorithm for the Wireless Mobile System’. Worked on the design of the PHY Layer simulation model of the adaptive MIMO System, which was developed based on IEEE 802.16e standard.Designed and established the display platform. Transplanted the Matlab code to Labview’s background scripts and displayed the real-time results.
Embedded Software Developer
Designed and implemented the embedded digital display terminal of the centralized monitoring system by ATmega16 Micro Control Unit (MCU) and C language. The digital display information can be controlled by a button interrupt.
