Tenured Senior Research Professor, Group Leader of multifunctional devices, got his PhD in Materials Chemistry at College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering, Peking University in 2004. Then he worked as a postdoc in Max-Planck-Institute for Microstructure Physics (Germany) and in the Laboratory for Micro- and Nanotechnology, Paul Scherrer Institut (Switzerland) until Oct. 2009. From 11/2009-11/2010, he was appointed as a principal investigator in the college of engineering at Peking University. Since 12/2010 he works at IMDEA-Nanoscience (Madrid) as a staff researcher. His research interest is focusing on ultra-high density magnetic recording media and head in thin film and patterned nanostructures; magneto-electric coupled thin film and composite devices for magnetic sensors; and advanced fabrication and characterization techniques such as micro and nano-fabrication in clean room. Dr. F. Luo has been involved in 20 research projects and 7 projects are now funded with a total budget of 720.000 Euro as PI.
