Fernando Benjamin Ocampo Carapia was born November 11, 1964 in Mexico City, Mexico.He obtained a bachelor's degree in finance, and later a master's in public administration from CIDE in Mexico City in 1991.During the 1990s, he developed electronic banking systems for Bital Bank to enable transactions such as telephone and internet banking, payroll payments through debit cards, and the use of ATMs for salary deposits.Later, he served as Country Manager for Hypercom de Mexico, the Mexican subsidiary of Hypercom Inc., where he initiated important technological changes in the payment methods used by the banking system in Mexico.For the past 24 years, he has served as CFO for Telcel. His responsibilities include accounting, budgeting, financial planning, revenue assurance, accounts receivable, payments, internal control, tax compliance, and oversight of the offices of CISO and CDO for the largest company in Mexico.He has directed M&A and carve-outs and a wide range of corporate restructurings. He participated in the spinoff of Telmex that created the América Móvil holding company, as well as its IPO. Later he assisted in the acquisition of Telmex International and Telmex by América Móvil.Additionally, he oversees the supply chain of handsets sold by Telcel, ensuring the on-time arrival of approximately thirty million devices per year to points of sale throughout Mexico.He deployed SAP and manages the system among all AMX subsidiaries in seventeen countries throughout LATAM.He serves on the boards of HITTS, Telvista, and Transfer.He has given classes at Universidad Anahuac, Universidad Iberoamericano, and CIDE.He has been married to his wife, who is a psychologist, for 29 years. They have two daughters, who are 18 and 21 years old.
