After developing a wide range of software and companies for 13 years, I am very secure when I say that dev is my passion. And in the last 5 years I figured out that what I do best in my work is to be able to translate in code and for the IT team, what a company needs to be done for its business.. I will explain.My first 7 years being a software developer were working mainly on retail companies like buscape.com.br, FControl (anti-fraud), Walmart Brazil, PRNewswire, submarinoviagens.com.br and impostometro.com.br. These years gave me a solid ground of performance goals because I had to always be looking for performance, scale and clean code. At this time I also started managing small teams using scrum.In 2014 I started Polen.com.br, a corporate donation platform focused on offering ecommerces and companies an easy way to donate and practise CSR inside their business strategy, like donating part of their sales. This adventure led me to live in Santiago in Chile, London and Manchester in the UK, where we got selected for different startup accelerator programs.In 2018 we went back to Brazil and after a pivot at Polen, we took our first investment round where R$700k was raised in total of venture capital initially focus on helping ecommerces to sell more using social impact as a differential and later by developing the first social impact open API in Latam for corporate donation.I have been Polen’s CEO for 2 years and after a strategy change, my partner took the job and I happily took the CTOs charge, which is my specialty. As CTO I was able to focus on building the technology in a way that it worked side by side with the whole business strategy for the company and being able to balance between clients and commercial demands and technology and infrastructure improvement.I implemented the agile framework that we work on now for the whole team, using OKR and Scrum to manage and measure results. It was a particular challenge when we decided to expand an IT know framework for the whole team. It was a great accomplishment to see sales and support achieving greater results with an IT agile strategy.The main technology behind Polen is angular 2+, Asp.Net C# WebAPI, MongoDB. Since 2021 we started migrating all our back-end to microservices using asp.net .Core, Docker, Kubernetes served in Google Cloud.Besides being very proud of my professional life, I have to say that my greatest achievement happened this year. My little daughter was born in April and definitely is the best piece of organic hardware that I'll ever make!
