Losing my sense of hearing is a blessing in disguise as it led me to work for the empowerment of people with Disabilities. As Chairman of the FPWD - Federation of Person with Disability in Meghalaya it has enabled the (DPOs) Disability People Organizations to come together on one platform and have one voice to work together for common interests/ issues. As an Ex-President of Meghalaya Deaf Association (MDA) for more than 6 years I had organized several workshops, training programs and webinars to raise awareness and promote accessibility for the disability community and being a key member of Neighborhood Community Networks (NCN) a global organization I had manage to set up five children parliaments including an inclusive children parliament in Meghalaya. I gave training to both the animators who will be responsible to guide the Children Parliament and also to all the children in the parliament to have leadership skills and practice SDG in both schools and community level.I am also a research scholar at NEHU (North Eastern Hill University) and a fellow from NCPEDP conducting research was on Accessible Transportation and using advocacy tools to help raise awareness to the public about disabilities rights and issues. I have also started a cross Disability organization called the Tbeh Foundation in Meghalaya with the hope to provide training and job opportunities for the PWDs.
