About Ferenc Ötvös
During my almost 30 year long (OMG!) career I had the great opportunity to prove myself in most exciting areas of IT, technology and engineering. After working many years in IT support, system engineering, software development, people and service management and realizing that in all knowledge areas there are much more talented experts than me :-) I came to conclusion: it is better for all of us if I lead, motivate and support those people in challenging projects and let them do things they are the best at...I started my professional career as 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) expert and developer.In July 2004 I have joined Lufthansa Systems Hungary (LSYH) as UNIX system engineer. After 6 months took over the coordinator role of the newly founded UNIX 3rd level support team. After 2 years I was going to the Team Leader position of the UNIX team within the Infrastructure Services Business Unit. In 2004 the BU started its continuous growth within the infrastructure operations segment, and the UNIX Team has taken over more and more responsibility from LSY. In the ROCIT program started in 2007 I was responsible for setting up the new 2nd level UNIX operations (7x24) team in Budapest and at the same time to strengthen the UNIX 3rd level team. Since the successful closing of ROCIT the UNIX team with 30-50 employees is providing very stable and reliable operations for LSY customers .From middle of 2011 as Project Manager I am leading various international IT migration and virtualization projects. Keywords: project management, distributed IT services, cloud computing.After couple of years at IPsoft, the automation expert company and Altran, the leading innovation and high‐tech engineering consulting company since September 2018 I am again a "Lufthanseat" at Lufthansa Industry Solutions.Specialties: ITIL, IT operations, project management, line management, data center, virtualization, migration, transformation
