I have had a wonderful experience working with Acalanes district and Las Lamas high school over the past two years. I have experienced tremendous personal and professional growth. Served as a CPT-1 (Certified Phlebotomy Technician) Instructor for this medical training facility – taught 36 phlebotomy classes to 4 different groups (emergency medical technicians, phlebotomists, nurses, and medical assistants).• Developed curriculum based on standards of California Department of Public Health – demonstrated phlebotomy techniques; prepared students for national and final exams; and managed externship program for students.

Performed phlebotomy and other lab work – completed routing, handling, and processing of various medical specimens; drew blood from patient’s finger, heel, or vein; observed principles of asepsis to obtain blood samples; documented all requests; released results of lab work accurately; and informed physicians of completion of lab work. Earned senior status – trained new phlebotomists on techniques, systems, hospital policies and procedures; and reported on the work performance of other laboratory assistants.

Served as one of the pioneers in the establishment of an English Language Laboratory for this university – managed staff and budget allocated for this laboratory; taught English pre-requisition and general English classes to about 80 students per semester.Taught English as a foreign language (EFL) classes for all health care and educational department – created syllabus, lesson plans, tests, and all other class materials; and taught 25 students per class including physicians, nurses, and all other health care employees.Edited a scientific quarterly magazine for the Educational Department – provided research for Yafteh Magazine; revised national and international articles, translated articles in English to Farsi; edited and published magazine.
