I have spent most of my working life with the oilfield services company, Cameron, which is now OneSubea. I have returned to NSAI working in the Standards Business Development Section. I managed OneSubsea’s affairs in Angola for the BP PSVM subsea field on Block 31. As a Mechanical Engineer graduate from UL, I designed wellhead choke valves (pressure controlling valves) for the oil and gas industry. After that role I transferred to the service department and worked offshore installing wellhead equipment, prominently subsea X-trees in the North Sea. An offer as a Sales Engineer selling the choke valves that I had designed was too good to pass up and so, I sold subsea and surface chokes while also providing technical support. Having taken a break from the oilfield I was a Standards Officer with NSAI. This involved project managing the development of European Standards (EN) and Irish Standards. The areas that I covered included standardization of Petroleum Exploration & Extraction, Natural Gas, LPG, Building Services and the Retrofitting of buildings to increase energy efficiency.I remain dedicated to minimising the risks of Carbon Monoxide poisoning through standardization.
Listed skills include Engineering, Gas, Energy, Petroleum, and 46 others.
