Responsible for delivering the BBC's coverage of National Album Day 2020. Pitching the event to relevant radio networks and shows for inclusion in their programmes.Securing promotion for National Album Day activities on BBC websites.Briefing press and marketing teams with the latest BBC coverage updates.At the same time I was responsible for bulding and publishing the event website for 1Xtra Live 2020, to coincide with the live event launch on the radio. I managed the site thoughout the event period including during the live show and through to the expiry of on demand content once the show had been broadcast.

Responsible for regularly updating Music Mix cover images as new episodes went live for both specially produced online only mixes and for BBC Radio shows. Working with Mix curators to pick images to promote their mixes in Sounds.Scheduling promotions in the music section of BBC iPlayer, responsible for ensuring new programmes appeared on the page after they were broadcast live and that BBC Music priorities were prominent in the category. Worked alongside colleagues from across iPlayer editorial and the UK to find opportunities to promote Music programmes on different areas of iPlayer.Attending weekly promotions meeting with Marketing teams to pitch Sounds mixes for promotion as part of BBC Marketing campaigns.Writing briefs for designers to create cover art for new mix brands. Giving notes on drafts and collaborating with designers to produce signed off assets.Composing weekly emails for Music Mix Curators to inform them where their mixes were being promoted, when mixes needed to be delivered for promotional slots and future promotional plans.Maintained relationships with BBC social accounts, BBC Homepage and BBC Radio networks in order to offer them relevant Music Mixes for promotional opportunities. Provided interested parties with assets and relevant information to realise those opportunities.Managed iPlayer live streams for BBC Music Events including 6 Music Festival, Reading and Radio 1’s Big Weekend. Responsible for ensuring live streams from stages appear on platform with accurate and up to date information and to make user journeys to those streams as clear and simple as possible.

Brought in to prepare a brief for BBC Radio production teams informing them on best practice twhen optimising their programmes for discovery in BBC Sounds prior to its launch.Collecting listening stats to chart weekly performance of network programmes and frequently acting up on behalf of Digital Producers by present ingthese at network core meetings to station heads.Using BBC CMS to manage promotions on network homepages to ensure they reflected station priorities and showcased the breadth of content on offer from the relevant station at the time including out of hours updates.Managing digital ticketing pages and on sale moments, ensuring they constantly displayed accurate and up to date information and ensuring they were taken down once sales were over.Running live votes such as 2018's 6 Music Band T Shirt Day vote. Working alongside programme teams to ensure all the parameters were correct and how to co-ordinate digital activities with on air plans as well as production support teams to make certain that all actions were compliant to BBC Standards.Editing radio programmes after broadcast to create on demand versions.

-Acted as a Live Producer for the BBC’s biggest ever live music event, The Biggest Weekend. Responsible for establishing connections with broadcast gallery in Salford, publishing broadcast streams of multiple live stage online, curating them throughout the day whilst ensuring all performance information was kept up to date on the event home page. Curated streams in iPlayer collections throughout the weekend.-Lead producer for the Radio 2 Folk Awards in Belfast. Built the Awards website for 2018. Live produced on the night of the awards, uploading photos of winners and performers as the evening unfolded from site. Created a variety of articles to drive engagement on the Folk Awards website included an interactive quiz about the awards and an article about the influence of Folk music that was picked up by the BBC Homepage.-Updated BBC sites during live ticket launches for events including Proms in the Park and Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park-Sub-edited articles for various BBC Networks including Radio 1/1Xtra, Radio 2 and 6 Music as well as longer reads for BBC Music, ensuring they were compliant with BBC Editorial Guidelines.-Updated regular playlists such as Lauren Laverne’s Just added, 5 Live’s Fit & Fearless and the Lamacq Livener as well as creating one off playlists for events like the Proms and the Radio 2 Folk Awards as well as selecting tracks to be added to the Best of BBC introducing playlist.-Publishing videos to YouTube on behalf of Radio 2 and other areas.

My responsibilities in the post include: -Maintaining relationships with a network of theatrical agents in order to book actors. -Formatting, proofreading and printing scripts to be used in studio during the recording of drama programmes. -Analysing potential risks in order to complete Risk Assessments for studio recordings. -Ensuring acting talent are comfortable and settled during recording in order to ensure they give their best performances. -Developing ideas for online content and social media for each programme I work on. -Taking photos in studio and outside for use as part of programme publicity. -Completing music reporting to ensure all music tracks used in recordings are logged with PRS.-Responsible for monitoring production budgets. Exploring ways of using the programme budget as efficiently as possible.

Tutored an introduction to radio course to a class of 17-25 year olds across six two hour classes. Topics covered:-How to operate a radio studio.-Interviewing and using handheld recorders.-How to plan and prep a radio show.-Editing.-Presenting.-Pitching a show.

Recruited new presenters at the beginning of each academic year and trained them in the use of the studios and associated broadcast equipment. Coached new starters in creating their own radio programs and refining their presenting skills. Assembled and implemented a weekly schedule consisting of over 53 hours of programming output and ensured that it was in accord with broadcast regulations and maintained the station’s high standard. Planned a variety of extended day long live outside broadcasts, led large teams in excess of 10 hours. Co-ordinated marketing campaigns to gain publicity for events. Was re-elected for a second year as a result of my efforts.

Presented and produced a variety of shows both alone and with other presenters, creating original content for broadcast. Developed and delivered a series of specialised Entertainment shows, such as a satirical Elections show, throughout the year. Named Best Male Presenter at the 2009 National Student Radio Awards and presented a 3 hour show on Radio 1 on May 31st as a result. Nominated for the 2009 and 2010 Kevin Greening Award for Outstanding Talent and Creativity. Received a Bronze Award for Best Entertainment Show in 2010 for The Elections Show. Played a major role in securing URN the award for Best Student Radio Station 2010.
