I currently work as a project consultant for IES, using their ICL suite of software tools. The ICL (Intelligent Communities Lifecycle) allows for the creation of accurate digital twins at any level of the built environment, from individual buildings to entire cities. The carbon footprint of a particular project can be minimised through undertaking scenario based simulations on the digital twin.

I completed a paid ten-week placement at this boatyard, performing both practical engineering tasks and project management. I directly aided the general manager in a variety of projects including:• writing market research reports comparing the facilities to other boatyards on the east coast• writing risk management guidelines for heavy equipment and ensuring they were being followed in the yard • preparing and collating documents to submit for ISO 9001 and 14001 accreditations• developing excel models to calculate painting costs for different sized boats – this saved the painters significant amounts of time as this was previously manually calculated for each boat booked in• optimising the efficiency of work being assigned by undertaking timesheet analysis• Research into business proposal for crane rental• general customer service duties, dealing with clients over the phone and in person

My duties included running football coaching sessions both independently and as part of a wider coaching team for children aged 8-11. I also provided instrumental tuition in guitar and piano for children aged 9-12. This job allowed me to pursue my interests in a work environment and improve my leadership and communication skills, working both individually and with others to provide care for children of a variety of ages.
