Designed hardware and firmware for Auris Audiometer project. Improved previous design by removing clicks and noise. Working with the Java software developer, we ended developing a quality product as good or better than European audiometers worth upwards of 10k.

As one of the first 3 engineers at Boost, my role was to take projects and push them to completion in a short time frame. Successful projects included Inventia Rastrum bio printer, Zergo keyboard, Farm management system, Skyboxpro crypto current generator, Makinex cargo tray auto restrainer, Noisy gut, Gusto caravan foot air fan, thermal iot camera, underwater video camera, Spotlight Bluetooth controller, laryngoscope research, dual cavity magnetron microwave oven, indoor rotating greenhouse device, contractile robot sensor board,.

Designed an electrolysis machine for Permanence. The project involved designing the schematic, PCB layouts, firmware , USB loader, Windows based software, Bluetooth, extensive testing and and 32 channels of isolated RS485 running at 500 kbaud.

Designed a heated tube controller and a CPAP machine

Design engineer responsible for all aspects of Electric Fence Energiser Hardware and Firmware Design. Including certification. Implemented many new features to the energisers including wireless output while improving quality. Boosted energy output of all energisers to the limit using a custom energy meter. Clark Equipment and Dakenag sell around 5-10k energisers a year and are the only Australian based electric fence manufacturer, operating since the 1960s.

Designed the hardware, firmware and software for the Cubetape freight measurement tool

Sustaining/ Operations Engineering role. This role relates to securing component supply for manufacturing, improving manufacturing processes and any problem related to current product deployed in the field. Also involved, were several returned device investigations. Various milestones achieved were the sourcing of potential replacement batteries, chargers, remote communication platforms, and listing all the areas for improvement. In addition, a patient data log analysis tool was written which allowed files to be viewed easily using an explorer-style window, graphs overlaid for fast analysis and patient, data and error summaries in csv format for excel.

Designed the Visimax injector which involved hardware modules, prototyping, circuit design and layout, state machine driven firmware, and testing or V&V for Imaxeon injector. The Visimax injector used a backlit graphics monochrome display which flipped when the injector head was lifted for filling. The Visimax has now sold over 500 units, with arguably a very low failure rate, and a very efficient battery and charging system.From 2001 to 2006, I was the chief designer on the Avidia Angio injector which uses a colour touchpad and 5 controllers, and could inject a 150ml syringe in 3s into the heart with 1200psi to an accuracy of better than 0.1ml. The pressure sensing was very accurate with a 6-term formula based on speed, flow and current. Over 300 Angio injectors have been made to date, and the Avidia has CE and TGA approval.The current Salient injector is based on work done on the Avidia.
