I was part of a team recruited to bring a brand new technology led product to market. This strategic business development role meant identifying & pinpointing opportunities within varying sectors and then communicating at all levels. This role required encouraging clients to review their business model & service provision to help generate new income streams. This progressed to a focus on local authority clients and working on tender applications across varying councils across the North of the country.

Operating across the whole of the North of the country a major part of my responsibility was developing and implementing a strategy to source new business opportunities within vertical segments within the private sector. This meant proactively targeting new & dormant clients and offering industry & market insights to quickly gain trust and help drive clients buying decisions. Successfully sourcing 90% new business opportunities complemented account managing several market leading companies.

My role was to recruit, train, manage, coach & mentor sales teams across varying parts of England. Success was measured in delivery of sales targets based in a unitary format. My role developed into influencing the sales packages and sales mix to ensure the budgetary requirements of different contract businesses were met. Managing numerous teams on KPI performance takes consistency & discipline but longevity of success was based on leading from the front and continued personal development of staff.

Whilst managing a sales team at David Lloyd Burton Waters Club we managed to hit sales targets for an unprecedented 15 months in a row; ensuring member net gain targets and subscriptions budgets were achieved for two consecutive years. This success contributed to the club winning the coveted club of the year in my first full financial year as sales manager due to the massive financial improvement vs. budget on membership income.
