Developed computational methods at the Center for Computational Biology and Bioinformatics (C2B2) to quantify and understand human genetic variation. My project involved developing a noSQL database to analyze terabytes of genomic data for genome-wide association studies. The goal is to understand how sequence variation determines biological processes to understand its influence on human disease. Worked with different sequencing and mapping algorithms, implemented in Java, running tests on data at an off-site grid computing system through a secure tunnel.

Completed two 12-hour shifts per week as a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician. Served the Columbia University and Morningside Heights Community.
