When I was a kid, my favorite toy was a fashion plate design kit, I would spend hours coloring my drawings, making patterns, and writing all over them. As I grew older I’d make abstract patterns from fashion magazines, make scrapbooks and collages. The contrast of colors and the clashing of textures was my favorite part. Naturally, I thought I was meant to be a fashion designer, and I went for it. Fashion illustration was my absolute favorite class but I quickly realized that I didn’t click with anything else in the programBut do not worry, this story has a happy ending! Towards the end of my semester in Fashion Design, I learned about another program called Graphic Design, which was all about drawing, using colors, creating patterns, and typography. Suddenly everything clicked, and I learned how to do everything I’ve always loved doing on a pro-level, with a purpose.As new technology emerges, I’m fascinated by everything graphic design can be. Learning a new creative discipline like photography or motion graphics, is to me, like discovering new ways to cook with my favorite flavor. So I’m always seeking to learn something new.I’ve had the opportunity to work with great brands, like Coca-Cola, Directv, Beiersdorf, Clinique, and Cover Girl, throughout my career. Some of my most proud accomplishments are:1. Designing the first large format Fashion & Photography book in Ecuador: Efecto Valdivia 1.0 inspired by the Valdivia culture and featuring the most talented Ecuadorian fashion photographers and designers. This book won an award for craft at a local festival.2. Creating a brand identity for Kay: initially an e-commerce that’s becoming one of the largest Ecuadorian beauty retailers. Kay is now opening stores in the biggest cities of the country. 3. Creating a brand identity for Plantó, an organic produce delivery service inspired by my friends and their family just for fun.
