I am currently a Senior Economist at the IMF in Fiscal Affairs Department, Expenditure Policy Division. Before joining the IMF in November 2018, I worked as an assistant professor at the University of Alicante (2010-2013) and the University of Warwick (2013 -2018), conducting research on political economy, public finance, development, and social protection which was published in top academic journals (AER and others). Since joining the IMF, I have worked on several areas of focus of Expenditure Policy Division (EPD), including energy subsidies, wage bill management, social protection, and SDG costing. I have been leading technical assistant and capacity development missions to country members, designing and implementing reforms, giving policy advice and conducting analytical work.
