Total gross floor area 460,000 sf of residential, and 25,000 sf of an entertainment music venue.⏵ Design-Build Project Manager working with the City of New York defining the program and RFP for a new 60,000 gsf Multi-Service Facility in Brownsville, Brooklyn, NY.

⏵ Served as functional leader for a team of 11 architects in the design and construction of cutting-edge attractions and resorts.⏵ Aligned team information, knowledge transfer, and groups with expertise through monthly meetings to share challenges and lessons learned.⏵ Led consultant-hiring process, managing interviews, evaluating proposals, and presenting actionable data to leadership to select a partner with the best quality and value.⏵ Enabled EPCOT renovation as the design manager for a new attraction, delivering a new vision of the park.

⏵ Long Beach Civic Center: New City Hall, Port Headquarters, Main Library and Lincoln Park for the City of Long Beach, with 580,000 GSF of new construction, and over $500M in construction costs. A P3 venture, responsible for design, construction, finance, operation, and maintenance (DBFOM), delivered facilities more energy efficient, seismically resilient, and economical to maintain. With a 40-year term partnership, the City shifted construction cost, schedule, financing, and facility performance risk onto a private developer. Role: Owner’s Representative and Project Manager for the City of Long Beach during design and construction. Managed 25+ engineers/architects during multidisciplinary design review.

⏵ Rio de Janeiro Subway Line 4 South: One of the largest infrastructure projects in Rio de Janeiro, Line 4 Subway expansion was a P3 venture that connected the city to the park where the 2016 Summer Olympics took place. A total of 16km, and almost US$ 2 billion in construction costs, our scope focused on the South section, 5 km long, excavated by a tunnel boring machine (TBM), three new stations and one emergency exit/ventilation shaft. Role: Project manager of a team of 25+ engineers/architects located at various Arup offices (Brazil, USA, UK) performing multidisciplinary design review. ⏵ Parque da Cidade: This massive city development included 80,000 m2 of new construction, almost US$ 18 million in construction costs, with two residential towers, a shopping mall, 5-star hotel, city park, six office towers, and retail areas. Arup performed cost control and value engineering during design of the residential towers, proposing alternatives for various disciplines, from façade to building systems, respecting the original design intent by UN Studio. Role: Project manager and liaison between client, design team, and Arup’s consulting team.⏵ Arenas Cariocas: New construction of three interconnected sports arena complex, approximately 39,000 m2, US$ 340 million in construction costs. Infrastructure for the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Summer Olympics. Arup coordinated the design team during design phase. Role: Project coordinator and liaison between client/contractor, and design team, organized and centralized the exchange of information, resulting in a more efficient project delivery.

⏵ UNITEC Semiconductors Fabrication Facility: The first semiconductor fabrication facility in Brazil, delivered as a design-build project, with a 4,200 m2 cleanroom Class Iso 6, and US$200 million of construction cost. Role: Project manager and liaison between owner, contractor, and design team (located in USA, Germany, and Brazil), during design and construction, focused on mechanical and process engineering. Participated in contract negotiations and scope definition.

⏵ Delivered remodel of the iconic Lincoln Center—$1.2BN project—including North Plaza, Restaurant, Office Space, and W 65TH Street. Managed multidisciplinary teams to deliver building systems coordinated with fit-out packages (Film Society, Restaurant, LCPA offices).⏵ Served as project architect for a confidential Federal Office Building, co-developing corporate interiors, planning, and layout. Developed understanding of agency needs to create a highly efficient workspace.⏵ Developed construction documents for new high-end residential complex – total area of 728,000 GSF - part of the Historic St. Vincent’s Hospital Campus transformation.

⏵ International Finance Center: IFC is a mixed-use commercial development located in Yeouido-Dong, Seoul, South Korea. This 577,000 m2 development was designed by Arquitectonica. The complex is composed of (3) office towers, (1) hotel, public outdoor spaces, and a seven-story below-grade structure for a high-end mall and parking. Role: Designer developing construction documents, focused on the high-end mall public areas and office towers’ entrance lobbies.

⏵ Pioneer Middle School: Designed by DLR Group, this project encompassed a new 105,000 GSF replacement Middle School for 850 students. Spaces include classrooms, administration, music and performance halls, science, video, computer, and food labs, cafeteria, gym, library, outdoor leaning and support spaces. DLR Group provided architecture, engineering, interiors, and planning services. Role: Designer developing construction documents.⏵ Lincoln High School: This historic high-school building went through substantial renovations in 2005, designed by DLR Group. Included a new academic building, exterior renovations, reintegrating the school’s original front door entrance, and restoration of major architectural elements. Role: Designer developing construction documents.

Developed documents and managed small teams, from design to construction phases, of residential projects. Worked in construction administration of a small medical clinic and mixed-use buildings.
