    The Ph.D. project was focused on the development of bio-based polymeric materials, including polyurethane foams and adhesives, from kraft lignin isolated by the LignoBoost process. During this project, I was responsible to characterize the kraft lignin, to develop lignin-based polyol using the oxyalkylation process, and polyurethane products with a TRL 4-5. I used various analytical methods, such as NMR, GPC, FT-IR, TGA, DMA, and SEM to characterize the resulting materials. Additionally, I developed strategies to produce non-isocyanate polyurethane (NIPU) and carried out a technical-economic assessment of polyol production. I also possess basic knowledge of REACH and ECHA regulations.
