Regional Monitoring And Evaluation Senior Manager
In charge of designing and implementing a standardized monitoring and evaluation system tailored for the scope of the regional project called Our Future Forests Project. The Project, funded by the French government, supports indigenous peoples and local communities (IPLCs) from Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Guyana, and Suriname in their role of management and protection of the Amazon against the threats of unsustainable development and climate change. Through the M&E comprehensive system, support is provided to solve financial/administrative/technical bottlenecks, enhance and scale positive results and opportunities, identify risks, systematize lessons learned (knowledge management), among others. I also coordinate the revision of the semester reports submitted by countries, and with those inputs, I execute the elaboration of the annual regional donor report. In coordination with other experts, part of my main responsibilities is to ensure that the social and environmental safeguards are considered while implementing the Project (including the design and implementation of a grievance mechanism). Regarding the implementation, I am in charge of the implementation of some key activities of the project including the design and implementation of an environmental e-learning program for youth, and overseeing activities to strengthen the institutional capacity of IP Organizations. Finally, for strategic planning purposes of the Amazon region, I provide programmatic advice and tools useful for headquarters (Washington DC) and the countries.
