I am a passionate molecular biologist with over 12 years of extensive experience in the field of infectious diseases. My career has been dedicated to unraveling the molecular mechanisms combatting multidrug-resistant pathogens, as well as to understanding intricate bacteria-host interactions aimed at improving human lives.My current role as a Senior Scientist at Winclove Probiotics involves the screening and selection of bacteria strains based on scientific evidences for specific medical indications. I also initiate and coordinate collaborations with Contract Research Organizations (CROs) and co-supervise a team of technicians.Prior to this role, as a Senior Scientist in the Bacterial Vaccines Department at Janssen Pharmaceutical (J&J) involved spearheading the development of new assays to identify novel antigens for bacterial vaccines. Lastely, I served as Assistant Professor at the University Medical Center Utrecht, where I played a pivotal role in coordinating an EU consortium aimed at combating antimicrobial-resistant bacteria. As a leader of a research group, I have successfully executed numerous projects, particularly focusing on the microbiome's role in human health and disease.
