Responsible for the development of specifications and recommendations to acquire complex electrical apparatus for Stations. • Responsible for all technical aspects of complex electrical apparatus, evaluation of major equipment requirements and follow through to completion of work. • Leads and/or supports QMS Factory Audits, witnessing inspections, FATs and/or quality investigations. • Research complex technical assignments associated with electrical apparatus designs, application and be responsible for technical support of complex apparatus to other Business Units within the Corporation.• Lead the development of detailed technical specifications and procurement process for complex Station Apparatus. • Responsible for analysis of technical and commercial data as well as leading the negotiation process with vendors in preparation of recommendations for the supply of complex apparatus. • Lead complex apparatus design reviews to ensure technical requirements have been satisfied and inspect apparatus and witness tests on equipment as required. • Support Technical staff in the detailed review of apparatus drawings, manuals and test reports for completeness and accuracy. Apparatus list includes but not limited to: Power and Auto-Transformers (12.47kV to 500kV), Shunt Reactors (230kV), AIS and GIS Switchgear and Capacitor Banks.• Advise planning and design personnel in the development of station layouts, complex apparatus requirements and station configuration regarding operation and protection considerations.• Provide expert advice to all areas of the Corporation on projects with short lead times or special requirements, including urgent application or failure investigations of complex electrical apparatus.

This included investment budget, assessment of the economical income of the project and financial indicators. Projects ranging between 15 and 70 Million dollars.•Pre-designed the electromechanical equipment for small power plants up to 50 MW.•Prepared reference terms for pre-feasibility and feasibility studies of small power plants.•Designed and conducted marketing studies on a 150 MW coal-fired power plant in Antioquia.•Participated in the promotion of the Pescadero-Ituango Hydro project.
