Invenia uses Machine Learning to forecast and predict electricity prices in the US Power Grid.* Implemented changes to the PyTest testing suite to increase the speed of tests by a factor of 10.* Implemented GitHub Actions Continuous Integration for the company GitHub repositories.* Designed tools built on top of AWSCli to help with AWS integration and deployment.* Created a custom cloud based PyPi solution for the private Python repositories. This was later refactored to use GitLab’s Project Repository to accomplish the same solution with reduced costs and resources.* Refactored the electricity bid delivery portion of the system to increase efficiency in the code base, as well as support delivery directly through power grid Independent Systems Operators’s rather than a third party intermediary.* Led the adoption of various code linters, formatters, and testing utilities for all of the Python codebases, such as Black, iSort, PyTest, CookieCutter, and Tox. This improved code clarity and test coverage over all affected codebases.* Delivered 100% coverage in various code bases, by adding tests and laying out coverage goals for various packages.* Helped design and implement a tool that allowed researchers to bring up a custom AWS stack which contained a pre-setup EC2 machine with various connections and tools needed to get work done quickly and efficiently. Using this system sped up development by a factor of 5.* Developed a solution to run multiple Machine Learning Forecasters at the same time by leveraging multi-threading. This reduced overall the overall time taken to be only as long as the slowest forecaster.* Overseeing the daily production run of electricity bids and reacting appropriately to issues that may arise.* Spearheaded the refactoring of the open source Julia package CompatHelper.jl, which alerts users to update dependencies, to add GitLab support among other minor improvements.

The system included technologies such as Mapnik, OpenLayers, PostGIS, PostgreSQL, several in house python back end applications, as well as bilingual client update programs and public facing websites.* Responsible for configuring servers and installing necessary packages.* Led the design and implementation of the PostgreSQL database schema for the RCRS, as well as a database migration tool to integrate git as a core part of the deployment pipeline.* Refactored various applications to boost the overall efficiency of the RCRS.
