Conducts scientific research involving primarily the study of computationally difficult optimization problems and the development of heuristic approaches to solve them, as well as investigating the usage of computational intelligence and soft computing in real-world problems. Research interests include epidemic processes and community structure in complex networks, analysis of multispectral satellite imagery, optimization of electrical distribution networks and brain-computer interfacing. Also works in a variety of software projects in the industry, focusing on web and mobile application development.
