I am the Head of International IT at Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, the world's first and only company to translate RNA interference (RNAi) from a Nobel Prize-winning discovery into an innovative, entirely new class of medicines. In this capacity, I have had the opportunity to partner with senior leaders to elevate digital and technology to support our international growth and expansion into new markets, to pivot our business towards profitability, and create an impact at our broader organizational and cultural transformation.I’m a strong believer in Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) and have seen first-hand how connecting technology, processes, but most importantly, the people across the enterprise can create new value opportunities and transform businesses in ways that just weren’t possible before. We’ve done this at Alnylam, as part of our Digital Transformation program my team and I used Cloud, AI, Data and Analytics to optimize forecast, demand and supply planning enabling our business to stay ahead of changes, and expediting the process of application (NDA), launch and delivery of medicines for patients with unmet medical needs across in more than 40 countries across the world. Throughout my career, I have placed strong emphasis on people and empowering a diverse and inclusive working environment filled with different backgrounds, geographies, cultures, skills, experiences, and knowledge with the right tools, data, and processes. I believe these are the essential ingredients for creativity and innovation, and the only way technology can truly be connected with people's needs and values, and transform lives for the better. I also founded the Center for Scientific Visualization Research (GVCM) and the Disruptive Technologies Lab (DTL) at the Nuclear & Energy Research Institute (IPEN) in the University of Sao Paulo, where I still serve and support STEM research and education.When I have free time outside of my work at Alnylam and my research group, I'm trying to satisfy my hunger for discovering new places, cultures and people.
