CURRENTLY: CEO at COLACO Technology co ltd (Beijing) >>> www.colaco.tech • www.kelaike.techCreative & Tech agency delivering all kinds of projects for clients in China and overseas:Custom multi-platform (mobile/desktop/web/wechat) software development, any kind of app or web-app, custom websites, platforms and marketplaces, design, branding, content, marketing & advertising. EXPERIENCE:• Mobile/Desktop/Web multi-platform app/game designer & developer. For Android, iOS, Windows, Mac, Linux, back-end, whatever needed to cover client/project needs and goals.• Previous freelance experience for over 15 years across all kinds of projects, was completed in Switzerland adding 3 years at an international advertising agency (Young & Rubicam) as Interactive Art Director followed with another 3 in the financial sector (at Bedrock) as Software Development Manager, bringing more experience with both intense (insane sometimes) creative projects, and then the precision and accuracy of financial grade applications. For clients such as SGS, United Nations, Formula1, Adobe, etc. Then back to freelance career, literally in full-fledged nomad mode all over the world (24 countries) to now settle in China.• Based in Beijing (over 12 years), but available for projects anywhere in the world.• Still not sure if the creative or the developer side is my dominant one, but so far they’ve been working quite well together for over 20 years.• Technology agnostic and not "married" to any specific tech, framework or buzzword. Need to keep pace with anything new that pops in the horizon, usually with some side-projects before using it in production (recently seems to be VR and robotics), but focus on what's appropriate for each case. HTML5/JS/Java/C++/C#/PHP/AS3/MySQL, whatever, as far as it can deliver and achieve its goals efficiently.• Started coding “for fun” (12 years old) in a ZX Spectrum, playing with the Basic language. After that, quick jump to Pascal, C, C++, and fast-forward to today, a "few" languages, tools and skills along the way (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, Unity, Maya, etc), some adopted and refined, others set aside because the only direction is forward in this field. But that's the best part and why I love my job. You can't get bored if everything is constantly evolving at an exciting pace.

And also got me contributing to the challenge of turning application interfaces a bit better than the usual bland, grey, low-usability and clunky factors, predominant in the financial field. I was also at the same time teaching in a private school. At the time the services provided were mainly graphic design, webdesign and video post-production. Custom application development followed and was the predominant activity from the second year. Over time 3D modeling and animation was also included. Something I offered during the first year, which was tech support, was dropped to release time and dedication the other services. The company was on hold while I was in the mandatory Army service for 6 months. Later, and after some more time in the Army I reopened the company in a bigger city and with some new services provided. I was also close to Spain which allowed me to starting working with a different market. Services provided by VirtuAlentejo (the new company) were graphic design, webdesign, web applications, video post-production and 3d animation and modeling. Training across different areas from design to programming was a constant service provided, to individuals and small groups. The market was not that good in Portugal at the time (very low rates for IT related services) so I decided to move abroad and after some research around Europe, I decided for Switzerland, where after a brief freelance period and volunteering at the International Peace Bureau, I was hired by Young & Rubicam.
