About Fernando García García

As a senior data scientist, my core expertise is in the development of machine learning solutions that successfully merge data-driven knowledge with domain-specific guidance by specialists from the field of application. Such techniques include supervised classification, ordinal regression and estimation, plus unsupervised clustering; as well as deep learning for computer vision, time series forecasting and mathematical modeling of dynamical processes, among others. Recently, I have worked in trustworthy machine learning: probability calibration in imbalanced datasets, feature selection with a focus on explainability, etc.During my research career, I have covered a range of application scenarios, mostly in the areas of medicine and healthcare, biomedical engineering, and sports science, all of which are characterized by their high standards for quality and robustness of outcomes. For this reason, I work methodically, with analytical thinking and scientific rigor.In addition, I have experience in long-term projects with multidisciplinary teams, in lecturing, and in the communication of results, e.g. via scientific reports and project deliverables, or in conference presentations.
