In May 2024, I took another career step, assuming the role of Data Specialist in Social Impact. With a lot of support and trust from my team, I am continuously developing not only my hard skills but also my soft skills, growing as a professional and as a person. With all the new challenges, I am still gaining significant technical knowledge in areas such as data architecture, AWS, API, HTML, Java, and JavaScript.

In May 2023, through an internal move, I became part of the new Social Impact team. Multiplying value through the use of data, supporting qualitative conclusions with quantitative information, and gaining autonomy and scope were significant differentiators that allowed me to help our team establish its data-driven foundations.

How do you discover which lever to use to achieve 10x growth for a company that already holds 95% market share? While we can't simulate the individual interactions of 220 million Brazilians in a closed environment, we have no option but to solve complex challenges with thorough analysis, statistics, A/B tests, creativity, and resilience (and more A/B tests).That was the focus in 2022, when I started working at iFood, in a Growth Internal Consulting Cell.

After spending some time on short and medium-term projects, in February 2021, I took on a new product, mapping it as a Product Manager for a tool that had not yet been scaled. What I knew about simulation before the internship was an example from class:"Imagine you see a fierce dog in the distance. This dog will always run towards you, and you will always run in a straight line not aligned to the dog's direction. When you run for a period of time, the dog will need to change its direction since you are no longer at the starting point. This will continue until the dog catches up to you."As silly as it may seem, this was not a trivial problem to solve… Show more What I knew about simulation before the internship was an example from class:"Imagine you see a fierce dog in the distance. We even tried to sketch some solutions, but at least during class time, I couldn't solve it. On the other hand, calculating the position of the dog and the person second by second in Excel was much more accessible and straightforward than solving it analytically. We only needed some distances and velocities, and the magic was done!That method (and others) was what I used during my internship, but now to solve problems such as Bottleneck Discovery in Iron Ore Railways, Port Transfer Operations, Warehouse Distribution, and even Queue Simulation based on the number of users in the subway.There's nothing better than testing a complex operation in a controlled environment to better allocate resources and time. Almost 15 years have gone by since a time when knowledge was plentiful and accessible, and so many things could be learned. Everything seemed possible — Math, Physics, but also Poetry, Biology, History, Geography, Philosophy. On top of that, I became a Nurse Technician. It's amazing how complex yet simple our path through life can seem as we grow older.
