I lead multiple concurrent Partners through their assignments to various application teams within H-E-B. My responsibilities include career development, technical mentorship, engineer allocation, performance management, organizational strategy, and continued education for our engineers. I successfully initiated and organized H-E-B's internal developer conference, H-E-B I/O, coordinating with venue, merchandise, and catering vendors.From the San Antonio Development Center (SADC), I joined the Find and Serve Tool (FAST) team as its Scrum Master and Engineering Manager. As FAST Engineering Manager, I led a team of highly talented engineers, providing career development and technical guidance. I oversaw the development and maintenance of services supporting personal shopping and curbside pickup. Successfully executing a vision of high reliability, I expanded SRE practices beyond the team to the entire H-E-B organization. I facilitated the adoption of tools like Statuspage, PagerDuty, and Gremlin. Additionally, I established production support practices by documenting and defining roles for Incident Commander, Communications Lead, and Response Team. Supporting an uptime of 99.99% and the implementation of the 4 key metrics of DevOps: - Deployment frequency- Lead time for change- Change failure rate- Mean time to recoveryI transformed the FAST application from a monolithic architecture to a microservice infrastructure, enhancing scalability while delivering critical functionalities for curbside and home delivery businesses through domain-driven design.As Engineering Manager, I scaled the team from medium to high performance to support our expanding business, including interviewing potential team members to accelerate curbside growth.I fostered strong stakeholder relationships through consistent communication. Providing accurate and easily understood updates through multiple mediums. Additionally, I managed vendor contracts and budgets.

As a Senior Engineer, I continued my technical lead role in the rewrite of the Product Maintenance (PM) application. The existing PM app was a legacy system built with older languages and deployed on Glassfish servers. I led a team of two junior engineers, initially reverse-engineering the legacy codebase to develop a local development environment guide. I subsequently established the infrastructure using Java, AngularJS, Spring, and Oracle, and created a deployment pipeline with Jenkins. Comprehensive documentation was maintained throughout the process for future engineers. The PM application is now a critical component of the company's product lifecycle.I mentored Software Engineers I and II across the organization, providing guidance on unit testing, functional testing, Agile methodologies, production support, technical documentation, and cross-team collaboration.In addition to my core engineering role, I contributed to the team in various capacities, including Scrum Master, Tester, and Technical Writer.I participated in extracurricular activities such as internal game jams, fostering collaboration with colleagues from different teams.

As a software engineer ll my delivery of work ranged from regular to high complexity level. I was able to expand my skill set through the assignment of a new application named Store Master. This application was first of its kind to store and manage H-E-B store attributes such as hours, phone numbers and many other attributes. One other engineer and myself built the foundational framework which included, a java/spring based backend with a javascript front end; connecting to a oracle database. Within six months a robust system was delivered that is still utilized by H-E-B business Partners to maintain said information that is utilized in cases within heb.com.Within the same level of engineering, I was assigned to another new backend application named AEP (Accounting Entry Processor). A new backend Java application that ingests blobs of data and parses that information to be fed to downstream systems. Using my problem solving skill set I developed the logic to parse these large data sets and accurately convert them to usable data. I two junior engineers during this project providing guidence through blockers and advice on solutions to new problems. I then developed a custom deployment pipeline to our different environment servers.

Collaborated with engineers to rewrite a role-based authentication management application in Javascript, Java, Spring, and Oracle database using a waterfall methodology.
