I manage and co-operate with the SRE [Site Reliability Engineering] team to ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of regional Kubernetes clusters around the US and Asia.

While managing a small IT team, I developed processes to ensure a strong security posture for corporate IT assets (networks and endpoints) during a rapid growth phase for the company.

I taught Geometry to 9th and 10th graders since starting at Balboa in 2004. In 2007, I introduced AP Computer Science, which became a highly-demanded Advanced Placement course with over 50% female enrollment in the 2014-2015 school year. Many graduates of AP Computer Science later became UC/CSU Computer Science students with successful entry into the Bay Area tech industry.I often leveraged my tech background when designing, building, and delivering curriculum to my classes. GeoGebra and Xournal were indispensable tools for teaching Geometry, just as my self-developed, online problem set system and GitHub have become central to managing my AP class.In the 2013-2014 school year, I was a recipient of the San Francisco Mayor's Teacher of the Year Award (http://sfmayor.org/index.aspx?page=200).

Toward the end of my 10-plus-year tenure with oDesk/Elance-oDesk/Upwork, my responsibilities included:• managing Upwork's corporate networks (Internet connectivity, firewalls, switches, WAPs, etc.), designing and building from scratch as well as planning and implementing incremental upgrades to existing infrastructure• managing services deployed to the Cloud (e.g., Okta) for 1k+ users via custom scripts• building and managing a Samba Active Directory in AWS and migrating two legacy Active Directories (user directories and shared folders) to it while preserving file-level ACLs and user-group bindingsPrior to the Elance-oDesk merger (2014) and subsequent rebranding as Upwork (2015), I was an IT lead at oDesk, responsible for nearly all aspects of its IT infrastructure and services through multiple physical relocations and service profiles (internal AD/filesharing, hosted Exchange, Google Apps, Okta).Relevant technologies: Linux servers running Apache, MySQL, Samba, BIND, and network discovery/troubleshooting tools (e.g., mtr and nmap); Asterisk VoIP management and migration/management scripting; General purpose PERL scripting (e.g., account management/provisioning and small web apps); Windows Server (AD membership/management, RADIUS auth for 802.1x wireless clients, DNS); Meraki and Cisco switching, firewall, and wireless products; PC laptop imaging and image management; numerous other odds and ends from over a decade in this role.

Rebuilt the in-house production environment to meet performance and security requirements. Migrated the entire environment to a colocation center and established secure management access to the environment from MyVest HQ. Managed all corporate IT assets.
