Finance Graduate / Assistant Accountant
Role commenced as part of the Finance Graduate scheme in which I rotated between various departments in order to gain knowledge and understanding of the entire organization. Through the rotations, additional activities, networking, projects etc, I gained a plethora of real world experience and skills that helped me understand the organization and have made me a more rounded and valuable Finance professional. The HS2 project role in particular provided me with immense practical experience, opportunities and challenges that not many people have the opportunity to go through and has taught me a lot. Throughout my time at Balfour Beatty I have used and received extensive training on using Oracle R12 and therefore I am highly proficient in using both Oracle R12 & Microsoft Excel.My last role withing the HS2 project (Assistant Accountant) included (but not limited to): Delegated Level of Authority, Task Codes, Affiliate Spend Analysis, Payments, Daily BACS Runs, Weekly Manual Payments, Off System Payments, Weekly International Run, Balance Sheet Consolidation, Treasury, Weekly Cash file (Cashflow), Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable, Customer Billing Agreements, Spend Analysis, Financial Appraisals ect.Following the successful completion of the Graduate Scheme, I was offered a permanent substantive role within the Core Financial Control team with increased responsibilities that played a central role in ensuring senior stakeholders had the data and relevant analysed information in order to make effective decisions for the Birmingham project area.
