As member of technology team at Lazada Indonesia, I am responsible to all custom script which we add to our main site.Lazada has regional team who mainly focus to maintain our site, and me as local developer sometime need to add new script to fixing bug, or add new feature which not implemented by regional team.We in Lazada aware about how important web performance related with revenue conversion, that's why we really have to keep our site fast.I made some improvement for web performance such a avoiding blocking download, faster javascript execution and manipulate regional's script to get better performance. Sometime my improvements or suggestions are adopted by regional team to be implemented for all Lazada's venture.My biggest contribution is revamp Lazada mobile site. We assigned to help regional team to revamp our mobile site, and of course will be implemented to all country. Our goal is to create mobile site with clean and easy UI/UX without compromising web performance. And I responsible to implement the mockup into PHP framework which using YII and collaboration with Portugal team.I decide to use Zepto as main javascript library instead jQuery mobile. My consideration is Zepto lighter than jQuery, it's more focus to modern browser (and of course it's not support old IE) and widely coverage by mobile browser. In this startup, My responsibilities are all of stuff that related with the website. The server and including the web apps.- I migrated the server from EC2 Amazon Web Service to Virtual Private Server (VPS). I choose ubuntu server as operating system. Mysql, nginx and php-fpm choosen to support the website running well. Nginx and php-fpm make memory consumption eficient than using apache. It's important moreover when we just have limited memory (RAM). - To instead of cloudfront service cloudeflare is choosen. Before that I make small riset to compare between cloudflare and incapsula. But for website like Fokado, I think cloudflare is better because they have more concern to performance than security. It's also replace the function on amazon route53- Magento choosen as the platform, my biggest modification in this site is change the flow of checkout process (called with simplecheckout).Magento's original process is using layered process or onepage checkout with many of required field must filled. I changed this with just only 4 field.With this modification make customer easier to buy from our site and absolutely increasing sales number.- Other modification, order reminder for pending purchase, eCertificated which can be exported as pdf, email opt-in online marketing, customizing template block.- Maintain mailchimp for blast newsletter and setup the html page/email content, and make sure it's look good in all email provider.- To instead of function of Amazon SES sendgrid has been choosen. Premium smtp server which claimed 0% spam.- And also some tweaking for performance, Frontend Optimization & Backend Optimization- Developing mobile web version using jquerymobile (under reviewing, waiting deployment)
