Validated the disease state for both models and showcased clinical relevance by demonstrating that FDA approved glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy drugs exhibit efficacy in the models.Key Achievements  Co-founded a small biotech company (Humonix Biosciences, Inc.) and successfully implemented two bioengineered human tissue models for the development of new therapies for glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy (DR) with an age-related macular degeneration (AMD) model in progress.  Developed a small molecule MELK kinase inhibitor (OTS167) for breast cancer and leukemia which is currently in phase I clinical trials in the US.
