Machining forces were measured, surface roughness characterized, and chip morphology were studied to determine the critical depth of cut for Silicon and Silicon nitride. In addition, various mechanical and optical quality components used for precision machine and instrument designs were fabricated by diamond turning and diamond fly cutting.● Successfully operated conventional and CNC machines for the manufacture of many mechanical, electro-mechanical, and optical components used in precision machine and instrumentation designs.
