I built a foundational usability research practice for the Predix platform group, enabling product teams to generate behavioral insights to fuel iterations and track UX metrics for IIoT applications in a wide variety of domains.• Scaled the research by defining a consistent process and training product teams on it.• Coached diverse teams on how to apply the method for actionable results.• Grew the program from 1 to 20+ studies/year.

Provide UX strategy, research & design support to Agile delivery teams in GE's New Orleans Technology Center.Led UX strategy to modernize a financial management application into an online, audit-able process: • Reduced process cycle times through user research-based task flow optimization.• Designed a simplified interaction model to make the UI consistent across multiple features within the application to reduce the learning curve and improve task efficiency.Partnered with process leaders & UX peers to develop a customer-focused delivery model that integrated UX best practices with Agile Scrum practice:• Clarified working relationships of business analysts, developers, and UX designers on Agile teams.• How Agile user stories can be derived from user research findings to populate the product backlog.• How results from usability studies can be applied to backlog refinement & prioritization.

Conducted usability research for The Data Center (formerly the Greater New Orleans Community Data Center). The Data Center provides independent research & analysis of social, economic, and environmental problems facing Southeast Louisiana. My role (as an independent contractor) was to plan & conduct usability research to improve usability of The Data Center's web site.

Support interface design activities in Microsoft Office through empirical research and user-centered design techniques.• Identified and helped program management resolve usability problems with interaction models in Microsoft Word 95, 97, and 2000. • Designed and conducted competitive analyses, lab, and field research to support design of Microsoft Office.• Contributed to the design and execution of benchmark studies to validate the effect of new features on user performance with Microsoft Word 2000 and Microsoft PhotoDraw 2000 V2.
