Developing a capacity-building program focused on enhancing synergies among the Rio Conventions—which includes the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), and the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD). This project aims to foster a cohesive approach among these conventions, streamlining efforts toward environmental sustainability, climate change mitigation, biodiversity conservation, and land degradation neutrality. In particular, I am doing the following activities:o Conducting a desk review to identify good practices and lessons learned for building synergies between Rio conventions.o Conduct online interviews with nine National Focal Points and assist in possible engagement with international partners. o Develop training material for online and physical training events.

Currently working as a Consultant in the EU funded “Mauritius Ridge to Reef - Support to Design and Formulate a Biodiversity Stewardship Programme through Incentive Tool Box” project. In this project, I am conducting the following activities:•Review legal, regulatory, and policy frameworks concerning establishing a Biodiversity Stewardship Program in Mauritius. •Assess different options/incentives used by other countries for implementing the Biodiversity Stewardship Programme •Assess the economic and social feasibility of introducing different Biodiversity Stewardship options/incentives for Mauritius.•Design an Incentive Toolbox Report for a Biodiversity Stewardship Programme

o Assess possible ways for concluding successful PPP projects for the Dutch Water sector in Bangladesh under the Bangladesh Delta Plan 2100 (BDP 2100)o Draft a plan of action to engage in PPPs as part of the strategy of the Netherlands Water Sector in Bangladesh Beyond ODA.

• Arranged multiple meetings with different government agencies to shortlist potential projects for GCF concept note preparation. Based on extensive stakeholder consultation, shortlisted six potential projects and initiated the concept note preparation process following the GCF template for each of these six projects. • Worked with the Local Government Division (LGD) team to develop the Green Climate Fund concept note of the "Enhancing Adaptive Capacities of Coastal Communities by Constructing Cyclone Shelters" project. Conducted field visits to collect the baseline data and closely collaborated with the LGD team to define the project components and develop the climate rationale write-up. • Worked with the Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) to develop four Green Climate Fund concept notes. The four proposed projects include: a) Developing Climate-Resilient Surface Irrigation Project in Drought Prone North Rajshahi Region. (b) Climate Resilient Coastal Embankment Project. (c) Climate Resilient Coastal and Riverine Char Development Project and (d) Climate Resilient Water Infrastructure Development in Haor Basins. • Prepared the business case documents for irrigation, renewable energy, and climate-resilient coastal housing Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects. Directly liaised with private investors, senior government officials, and the donor community for developing the business case document.• Worked with the Department of Agricultural Extension to develop the Green Climate Fund concept note of the "Integrated Agricultural Development in Moderately Cyclone Affected Area" project. Conducted multiple field visits to collect the baseline data and closely collaborated with the DAE team to prepare the project's sustainability and replicability write-up. • Closely collaborating with Infrastructure Development Company Limited for submitting these six concept notes to GCF.

As a national researcher, assisted in preparing background event study materials for FCDO funded "COP26-Related Multi-Stakeholder Virtual Workshops for UK-Bangladesh Climate Partnership Forum" project. Played a key role in mapping the industry stakeholder for both Bangladesh and the UK. Advised the client regarding possible private sector financing mechanisms for different sectors, including renewable energy and water. Closely collaborated with the FCDO team in overall planning the activities for the UK-Bangladesh Climate Partnership Forum.

For FCDO funded "Scoping Studies for Bangladesh Adaptation, Mitigation, and Environment" programme, prepared the value for money, political economy, conflict sensitivity, and gender sensitivity report to assess seventeen different interventions. These interventions include clean energy, community-based adaptation, nature-based solutions, and environmental management. Provided required research support for ensuring the delivery of scoping studies that inform future investments by FCDO/DFID in climate change adaptation, mitigation, and environmental management in Bangladesh. In total, assisted in preparing seventeen technical notes on a diverse range of topics, including migration, enhancing coastal resilience, natural flood management, forest restoration, the adaptation of agricultural practices, agricultural techniques to improve soil, cultivation of saline tolerant crops, Blue-green corridors, re-naturing cities, off-grid solar power, solar irrigation, wind energy, wave and tidal power, biomass and clean cookstoves, biogas, solid waste management, and energy efficiency. Subsequently, from these seventeen potential interventions identified promising intervention options for Bangladesh.

• Developing a pipeline of climate change adaptation projects to ensure sustainable land and forest management in Lebanon's Akkar and Jbeil districts. • Conducted extensive research on the GCF's investment funding criteria and developed detailed strategies Lebanon can adopt to obtain GCF funding for land restoration projects • Review the existing GEF projects in Lebanon's land degradation neutrality aspect and propose future approaches Lebanon can use to obtain additional GEF funding. • Assessing potential climate financing options and possible strategies for scaling up funding from the Adaptation Fund (AF). • Preparing a report on preparatory work Lebanon needs to conduct for implementing a REDD+ program. • Developing a report on the commercial viability of receiving Land Degradation Neutrality Fund support for agroforestry SMEs in Lebanon's Akkar and Jbeil districts. Reviewing the existing financing mechanism and challenges for SMEs working in Lebanon's land restoration business.

For USAID Funded "Data Management Support for Evidence and Action towards Safe, Nutritious Food" project, coordinated the rapid real-time tracking of local consumer perceptions and price trends of select nutritious foods in informal food markets to understand market resilience. Developed survey tools and methods for providing information on food prices, vendor and consumer attitudes and behaviors in two informal markets in Bangladesh.

For "Landscape Analysis of the Food Market System Actors Around Ready-Made Garments ("RMG") Factories in Dhaka and Chittagong" project, carried out a landscape analysis of the food market system actors around Ready-Made Garments ("RMG") factories. Besides, conducted a comprehensive and systematic overview of the inputs and services available to Small and Medium Enterprises. Also, prepared a list of SMEs with the potential to develop scalable and adaptable nutritious food products for RMG workers.

For minimizing the epidemic's impact on poor people in Teknaf, the Vulnerability to Resilience (V2R) project adapted its planning to ensure that people would continue receiving the assistance they need to support their food security and livelihoods. The project intends to provide livelihoods support to a further 500 people who were negatively impacted by the secondary impacts of COVID-19. The project undertook a market and value chain assessment to identify feasible livelihoods activities based on current market opportunities.As Market System Consultant for "Vulnerability to Resilience (V2R)" project, i analyzed six value chains (Agriculture, Livestock and poultry, small businesses, Fresh and dry fish, Salt farming, Rickshaw, and TomTom) in the Teknaf, Cox's Bazaar area. Besides, i conducted detailed mapping of rules, regulations, and assessment of general supporting functions of the market system. Also, i identified opportunities in the value chain for the development of income generation and self-employment options.

For SNV's "Sanitation Public-Private Partnership Guideline Development and Public-Private Partnership Transaction Advisory Support for Jashore Faecal Sludge Management (FSM) project", carried out commercial and financial analysis of the proposed Jashore Fecal Sludge Management (FSM) project. Conducted a Public-Private Partnership option analysis for the FSM project and performed the risk analysis of the different potential project investment options. In addition, conducted a commercial viability assessment for the project and subsequently introduced the scheduled desludging mechanism for making the project bankable. Scheduled desludging reduced the private partner's operation cost and ensured a viable business model. Also proposed phase-wise investment mechanism for ensuring project bankability. Developed a flexible financial model template to analyze different project parameters– including different scenarios for tariffs, Capex and Opex recovery, and loan repayment. Played a key role in conducting the market sounding for the Jashore Fecal Sludge Management (FSM) PPP project. Besides, played a key role in concession agreement preparation by designing the key performance indicators (KPI), KPI monitoring process, and payment mechanism. Played a key role in preparing the Sanitation Public-Private Partnership Guideline.

For SNV's "Enhancing the Capacity of Local Government Institutions (LGIs) to Address Public-Private Partnership (PPP) contracts for Fecal Sludge Management (FSM) services" project, carried out commercial and financial analysis of SNV's Fecal sludge management (FSM) PPP project pipeline and proposed the PPP modality for six FSM projects. Currently, the government is operating these plants with very minimum asset utilization and, as part of the consultant team, reviewed the existing business practice of government FSM projects. Besides, carried out a detailed market study to understand the viability of the proposed Khulna FSM project, including the possible requirement for any viability gap funding for the private sector. Developed a flexible financial model template to analyze different project parameters– including various scenarios for tariffs, Capex and Opex recovery, and loan repayment. As Public-Private Partnership is a new concept for the FSM sector, prepared a concept paper on 'PPP in Fecal Sludge Management" for promoting private sector participation in Fecal Sludge Treatment and designed a four-day Public-Private Partnership training program. Subsequently, as a capacity building expert trained more than thirty government officials in the Public-Private Partners projects. Directed an assessment session on the Public-Private Partnership simulation exercise for municipality officials.
