As the administrative assistant for the Department of World Languages and Cultures, I am the "front line" desk for all inquiries pertaining to the Department’s programs in person, phone, and email. I monitor and maintain the material aspects of our office by ordering the office supplies and textbooks for 70+ full-time and adjunct faculty. I promote the Department’s language programs online and through various events. I maintain the Department website, overseeing all content changes. In support of the Department Chair I pull, organize, and analyze course and enrollment data to inform the future academic decisions of the largest Department by credit hours at American University.

Kay Spiritual Life Center - 4400 Massachusetts Avenue, Nw, Washington, Dc 20016

As the Administrative Assistant at the Kay Spiritual Life Center I coordinate the religious and educational events hosted by the Center. Working in conjunction with the University Chaplain I assist with the scheduling and logistics involved in running a University office with 25-27 chaplains and 6-8 student work studies. I coordinate these activities until the return of the Assistant Director at the end of the Fall 2014 academic semester.

• Designed an interactive multimedia experience for the Fossil Hall with a focus on increasing audience engagement and clearly conveying scientific information in an accurate and understandable manner.• Produced design documentation including wire frames, use cases, and annotated maps with a focus on creating a clear strategic plan for the design project.• Created and maintained relationships with stakeholders throughout the NMNH including scientists, educators, experience and exhibition designers, and volunteer coordinators.• Identified and resolved issues stemming from the diverse needs and goals of this diverse team, with a focus on maintaining a positive and productive working environment.

I work to increase awareness and communication of Housing Families in its core communities. To achieve this goal I research best practices in regards to several outreach tools, including videos and print materials. I also research best practices in regards to techniques to measure our outreach, such as Google Analytics and Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Finally, I record all processes in a manual format, so that these practices can be seamlessly continued after my year of service.

I worked with consumers in a full-time, residential setting during their transition from hospitalization to full community integration. My focus was on skill building, socialization, and effective self-care practices that would assist in the transition to fully independent living.

As staff assistant at the Kay Spiritual Life Center I worked with the Assistant Director and University Chaplain in making sure the Center's programming ran efficiently and effectively. My responsibilities included scheduling (using Resource25), website development and maintenance (using Commonspot), and other office tasks.

Working in a team of four counselors, I helped create a fun and empowering camp experience for children and young adults from Pre-K to early twenties. Camp Lily, a day camp for youth living with developmental, physical, and/or intellectual disabilities, focused on an experience that balanced fun and stimulating play with the structured skill building activities; this combination fostered growth, self-esteem, and continual enjoyment for all our campers.
