Filippo is a pioneer in the combination of technology, visual arts, performance, music, and storytelling. He is a multidisciplinary artist with a focus on algorithms as well as a pianist, composer, developer, software architect, and fine artist. He invented the concept of "App Artwork" and released the first ever works of art that were made into applications and distributed in the official stores. His works of art incorporate his own original artistic artificial intelligence algorithms and encompass physical installations, live performances, music, and visuals. As a professor at Naples’ Suor Orsola Benincasa University, his lectures include “authorship and technology for digital experiences” and “transmedia storytelling and production strategies”. His awards include the Perseo D’oro first prize at Mediartech, the Festival Internazionale dell’Opera Multimediale 1996, presided over by Gillo Pontecorvo’s jury. In the early 90s he founded Alpha Channel Interactive and ForteYang International, amongst the first software and communication agencies for new media in italy. Over the last few decades, he has worked as a producer, designer and creative developer, and consulted as a creative coder, developer, software architect, and CTO on an uncountable number of highly innovative projects in the arts, entertainment, and technology, for creative agencies in Europe, Asia, the United States, and the Middle East. A number of his albums are released on international labels, and his music has been featured in documentaries and films. He performs internationally as a solo musician, or accompanied by other performers or by his digital beings, on hundreds of occasions since the ‘80s. His visual works of art and installations have been presented in several occasions, on personal and group exhibitions, or at events such as LPM Festival and the Istituto Italiano di Cultura in London.His wide-ranging perspective and deep knowledge of both the arts and technology allow him to combine the visionary, creative, and technical talents required to imagine like an artist and an engineer united.
